Machinery Dealer Reviews

Review Policy

The rules we apply to every review before it appears on a dealer profile. Effective October 15, 2026.

1. Who can submit a review

Anyone who personally bought equipment from, or attempted to buy equipment from, a dealer listed on this site may submit a review of that experience. Reviews must describe the reviewer’s own first-hand dealings. We do not accept reviews written on behalf of someone else, reviews from current or former employees of the dealer, reviews from competitors, or reviews from anyone who was offered anything of value in exchange for the review.

2. How to submit

Email your review to contact@machinerydealerreviews.com. Include:

  • The display name you want shown (a first name and last initial is fine).
  • A star rating from 1 to 5.
  • An optional short title.
  • Your full review text. There is no maximum length; complete reviews are published in full.
  • The approximate date of the transaction and, optionally, the machine involved and your city and state.
  • Optionally, a copy of your invoice, bill of sale or delivery receipt if you want the review labeled a verified purchase.

By submitting, you confirm that the review is truthful, based on your own experience, and that you grant Machinery Dealer Reviews a non-exclusive license to publish it, including in edited form where this policy allows editing.

3. Moderation

Before publication, every review is read by a person. We reject or hold reviews that:

  • Are not about a first-hand experience with the listed dealer.
  • Contain threats, harassment, hate speech or profanity directed at individuals.
  • Name or identify private individuals (for example, individual employees) beyond a job role.
  • Include phone numbers, email addresses, license plates, VINs or other personal data.
  • Are duplicates, spam, advertising, or appear to be generated in bulk.
  • Make specific factual allegations of illegal conduct that the reviewer declines to support with documentation.

We do not change the substance of a review. We may remove personal data, trim quoted material that is not the reviewer’s own, and fix obvious typographical errors. We never change a star rating. If a review is not published, we tell the reviewer why.

4. Verification

A review carries the “Verified purchase” label only when the reviewer supplied a purchase document (invoice, bill of sale, delivery receipt or equivalent) and we were able to confirm that it matches the dealer, the reviewer and the approximate date described. The verification method and date are recorded with the review. Reviews without a checked document are published as unverified. We do not label reviews as verified on the basis of a statement alone, and we do not count verified and unverified reviews differently when calculating ratings.

5. How ratings are calculated

  • The average rating is the arithmetic mean of the star ratings of all published reviews, rounded to one decimal.
  • The review count is the number of published reviews.
  • The distribution chart shows how many published reviews gave each star value.
  • There is no weighting by recency, verification status or review length, and no minimum number of reviews.
  • If a dealer has no published reviews, no rating is shown.

6. Negative reviews and dealer requests

We do not remove or hide a review because it is negative or because the dealer asks us to. A dealer may dispute a review by writing to contact@machinerydealerreviews.com with specific reasons. We will re-check the review against this policy and, where a document was used for verification, against that document. If a dealer sends a written response to a review, we may publish it beneath the review, clearly labeled as the dealer’s response.

7. Corrections and removal

Reviewers may ask us to correct or remove their own review at any time by emailing us from the address used to submit it. Removed reviews are excluded from all rating calculations immediately. We may also remove a review if we later learn that it violated this policy at the time it was submitted.

8. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page is updated. Reviews already published are re-evaluated only if the change affects whether they are eligible for publication.
